The Glorious Coming of the Messiah: A Prophetic Call to Holiness in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Christianity has long shaped the souls of the Congolese people. From early missionary efforts to revival movements, the gospel brought healing, education and moral structure to a nation often shaken by conflict. Churches became sanctuaries of hope and pastors were seen as moral guardians. The spiritual heritage of the DRC has long been a pillar of national identity.

Yet in recent decades, the church has drifted. Modernity, materialism, and secular ideologies have crept into the sanctuary. The pulpit, once a place of fire and conviction, now often echoes messages of worldly comfort and prosperity. The gospel of repentance has been replaced by the gospel of earthly success.

Sexual sin has ravaged the youth. Immorality is no longer rebuked, but tolerated. Homosexuality, once an abomination in Africa and in Christianity, is now defended in some pulpits. Nude dressing — immodesty in the house of God — has become normalized. Sermons in church now focus on wealth, success and comfort, while sin is ignored and rebranded as personal freedom, eroding reverence for sacred spaces. The fear of God has diminished, and with it, the urgency to prepare for the coming of the Lord.

In this hour of compromise, the LORD sent His servant, Prophet Dr. Owuor, to the DRC with a message of divine urgency. On August 27, 2025 Prophet Dr. Owuor received a mighty and reverent welcome upon his arrival at the Kinshasa International Airport.

Senior-most church leaders, bishops and pastors gathered in large numbers to receive him, forming a dignified reception that reflected deep honor and spiritual anticipation.

At the two-day pastors’ conference, the prophet delivered a thunderous sermon on the glorious coming of the Messiah. The message was clear: the Messiah is coming, and He is coming for a holy church.

Prophet Dr. Owuor reminded the church in DRC about these important tenets of eternity: that they cannot wish away holiness for it is heaven’s standard, the rapture will not include the casual or compromised Christians, God judges’ sin, and that the grace of God is not a license to sin; it is the power to overcome it. The church must return to righteousness, purity, and reverent fear of the LORD.

The LORD’s mission to DRC was not just a message, it is a movement marked by divine visitation. Prophet Dr. Owuor issued a solemn charge to the clergy: restore the sacredness of the pulpit. Those who stand at the altar must deliver a message that is heavenly-focused, not horizontal. The pulpit is not a stage for entertainment; it is a holy ground where eternity must be proclaimed. Ministers must preach repentance, holiness, and the fear of God. They are not influencers; they are preachers of the eternal gospel. Their words must pierce through earthly distractions and awaken the soul to eternity.

Based on Revelation 14:6, Prophet Dr. David Owuor emphasized the urgent need to restore the eternal gospel that begins with the fear of God. He declared that the fear of God is the true gospel and its absence in the church or a nation reveals that another gospel is being preached —one of compromise and deception has taken root. But the eternal gospel is independent, unchanging and not subject to human modification or theological consultation. Prophet Dr. Owuor warned that pastors must stop preaching for public approval and begin preaching to please the owner of the souls, God himself who watches to see if how pastors handle the gospel, reminding them that they will be accountable to God. The congregation must be taught to tremble at God’s Word, to walk in purity, and live each day waiting anxiously for the imminent return of Christ. That there’s only one gospel, the eternal gospel of the blood and the cross; that Jesus went on the cross and died, and resurrected to deliver mankind.

This clarion call echoed through the streets of Kinshasa and beyond, reminding the nation of its sole purpose: to prepare for the coming of the Messiah.

True to the prophecy the prophet pronounced before the DRC Revival, the Lord visited the land during the healing service, where miracles unfolded: healings, deliverances and signs that confirmed heaven’s presence.

The blind saw, the cripples walked and other conditions were healed and verified by the local doctors.

The Blind Seeing.

The cripples walking for the first time.

The prophetic mission of the Lord through his servant, Prophet Dr. Owuor, in the DRC ignited a spiritual awakening that reverberated far beyond the borders of the nation. The instructions were clear to the pastors, leaders and congregants to embrace deep repentance and urgent preparation for the rapture.

The message was uncompromising; that God will judge sin. And only the holy church will be taken up at rapture. The mission became a clarion call not only to DRC but to all nations. And the Lord, through his prophet, demanded a restoration of holiness at the pulpit; that those who stand before his people must preach the true eternal gospel, not horizontal message of comfort and wealth. The practitioners of the pulpit were charged to abandon compromise and preach repentance, holiness and the coming of the Messiah.

And the impact of the DRC Mission was undeniable, as one could tell from the responses, shock and joy of the attendees. DRC is now poised for massive revival after being awakened to the fact that that the Messiah is coming only for a holy people, and the church must be ready.
